1994 Honda Civic

The 1994 Honda Civic marks the second to last year of the line’s fifth generation and is notable for the facelift that Honda gave to the Civics that year. These alterations included an all-new one-piece spoiler, color-coded front air ducts, an LSD gearbox, and an interior color change. The facelift was more pronounced in UK markets due to the addition of antilock brakes and rear brake discs. Honda had already established these safety features on Civics sold in other markets.

The 1994 Honda Civic is available in several body styles. One of the most popular styles is the 2-door coupe, which was available as a hardtop, targa top, and convertible. The 1994 Honda Civic was also available as a 3-door hatchback and, most commonly, as a 4-door sedan. The primary trims available were the base level DX (Deluxe), the second-tier LX (Luxury), and the premium EX (Executive). The Si was primarily a sports-oriented engine trim available on the hatchbacks and coupés.

Also available in 1994 was the third edition of the Honda Civic del Sol but only the second year Honda sold it in the United States. In markets outside of North America, Honda called this vehicle the CRX del Sol. The del Sol represented the third generation of the CR-X in name only. Fundamentally, the CR-X and del Sol were distinct. 1994 was also notable for the addition of the V-TEC trim to the del Sol’s S and Si trims.

The 1994 Honda Civic Si (Sequential Injection) is especially popular with American automobile clubs that focus on imports. These Si models did not differ substantially from the standard DX, LX, and EX models in terms of aesthetics. However, Honda included a more powerful engine at an affordable price increase. The ’94 Honda Civic Si included a 125-horsepower generating VTEC.
