Honda Civic Popular

There are many reasons why Honda Civics have been some of the bestselling vehicles in North America since 1973. However, some of these reasons stand apart from the others. Outside of the obvious allure of affordability, one such reason is reliability. This is not just an empty reputation for reliability as sometimes happens in automotive circles. Among modern models, the reputation is supported by automotive studies, such as those by J.D. Power and Associates, specifically their Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and their Initial Quality Study (IQS). Among earlier models, the reputation is supported by the fact that Honda Civics remains some of the bestselling used cars in the market.

Another important factor in the popularity of Honda Civics is their reputation and ratings for safety. Honda focused on safety with the Civic long before the governments were mandating it and the consumers were demanding it. They continue this legacy of safety today by being innovative and providing a level of safety that sets the standard for the class. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently awarded the Civic “Top Safety Pick”. Standard safety features among Civics include six airbags, antilock brakes with electronic brake distribution, and driver and front passenger active head restraints. Brake assist and Vehicle Stability Assist are available at the higher trim levels.

The third standout reason is comfort. Consumers do not generally purchase small cars because they like small things. They purchase them because of the fuel performance, the price, and the practically. Some consider discomfort to be an unavoidable aspect associated with those benefits. However, Honda has always taken the position that small and comfortable do not have to be mutually exclusive. They have made particular advances in this vision in the current and eighth generation Civics.

People who wonder why Honda Civics are popular have likely never driven one. If you count yourself among that group, do yourself a favor and take one for a test drive.
