Honda, Japan based leading carmaker is all set to launch its new small car in India by the year 2011. A concept of this small car was showcased at Delhi Auto Expo, last month where the model was named as 'Honda New Small Car Concept'. Though it will be manufactured as an India oriented car but it can be flag-shipped in global auto market also.

As Honda Jazz, which was launched last year in India, is not doing as well as was expected for it, company is now aiming to generate volume sales through this new small car. After the launch the Honda new small car will compete with existing popular models in this range including Chevrolet Beat, Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Spark and Maruti Wagon R.

In the same range some new small car models are also expected to be launched including Ford Figo, Toyota Etios and Volkswagen Polo. Though the model is expected to be launched with a competitive price tag but Honda doesn't seems to be compromising with car's luxury and quality, as Honda cars are always known for their quality, luxury and comfort providing ability. Though the company hasn't disclosed any information regarding the specifications of the model but it is expected that it will be launched with a 1.2L Petrol engine.

Honda recently recalled a large number of its vehicles across the world auto market due to a faulty window switch in its car models. The main contributor to the recall was first generation Honda Jazz and Honda City. The Honda Jazz, sold in India till now is a second generation Jazz model which was not included in this global recall.
