Honda a premium compact car which was coming at a price range of Rs 6.98 lakh to Rs 7.33 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) is now available with a discount of Rs 40,000 and with attractive interest rates on loans. This action has been taken to clear stocks of the 2009 model.Honda Jazz had seen decline in retail sales as in December 2009; 1,066 units were produced out of which only 269 units were sold which has caused stock pile up. Many dealers of Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) across the country have started offering special incentives, including discounts of up to Rs 40,000 and lower interest rates of up to 5.8 per cent against 9.5 percent since the beginning of January.

The company commented on the discounts that said it was an initiative by the dealers and it had no plans to cut the price of the car. A showroom owner of HSCI in Delhi NCR informed that they were not giving direct discount and they were opting for special finance benefits like making available low interest rates.
