Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH, founded by Wilhelm Maybach (pronounced "my-ba:h") and his son Karl, was a German manufacturer of engines for zeppelins and later large and luxurious automobiles. The company has historic roots through the involvement of its founder who was the technical director of the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (Daimler Motor Company). Today, based in Stuttgart, the brand is owned by DaimlerChrysler. Between 1921 and 1940, the company produced various classic opulent vehicles.During World War II, design and production was redirected to military applications - Maybach designed and/or produced the engines of many German military vehicles and German armored fighting vehicles such as the PzKpfw IV, Tiger I and the Panther. The company also built heavy duty diesel engines for marine and rail purposes. Famous locomotives with Maybach engines include the German V200 and British Rail Class 52 'Westerns'.In 1960, Daimler-Benz acquired a majority shareholding. Six years later, Maybach-Motorenbau was merged with the heavy-duty engine arm of Daimler-Benz to form a new company, Maybach Mercedes-Benz Motorenbau GmbH. In 1969 this became MTU Friedrichshafen.A Maybach 57 at the Scarsdale Concours.Maybach was revived as a brand in the early 2000s under the direction of Mercedes-Benz, with the production of a new model in two variations - the Maybach 57 and the Maybach 62 (the numbers are equal to the lengths of the automobiles in decimetres). The prices range from US$305,000 to $357,000; they are priced to directly compete with top-of-the-range Bentley and Rolls-Royce automobiles. In 2005, the new 57S has been added, sporting a more powerful engine and cosmetic touches that provides a sporty image. The Maybach Exelero is a high-performance concept car presented in May 2005. The 690 hp (SAE) (514 kW) two-seater with a bi-turbo V12 engine is a one-off design commissioned by Fulda Tyres. Fulda is using this Maybach as a reference vehicle.

Why is it that when reviewers review a car, they use it the wrong way? You don't drive a Rolls-Royce Phantom. You are driven. You don't sit in the front seat. You sit on the bench in the back and bury your feet in the carpeting. You don't comment on the 0–60 time, you sit back and figure out which dignitary you're meeting with next. You don't complain about the poor gas mileage (12 city/19 highway... better than a Hummer and no worse, really, than a Cadillac Escalade). The tank is always full because it's someone's job to make sure that happens.
We think Rolls-Royce lets car reviewers review these even though no one reading one will ever be like, "Oh, right, the Phantom. Honey! Let's trade in the Taurus for a Phantom!" Like Rolls-Royce will ever sell to a prole.

$22,700If you really, really miss the Saab of yore, check out this beast. Affordable, quick, stylish. And full of Volvoy goodness.
If we were just starting out in life (rather than on this ever quickening downward slide), we'd totally grab this car. Coupe, hatch, hot. There is nothing we don't like about this car. In fact, our only fear is who is going to buy it. We're really hoping that young investment banker shitheads bypass Volvo dealerships and head right for BMW without even giving Volvo a thought. Because that's a great way to ruin a potentially great car.
By the way, we're aware the car isn't for sale yet, but it's that good of a deal!

Car :-2008 BMW M3

BMW's next-generation M3 just got a giant step closer with the unveiling of the BMW M3 Concept Car at Geneva.Under the hood of the 2008 BMW M3 lies a lightweight 4.0-liter V8 engine . The front fascia also has large air intakes to cool off what will reportedly be a 420 horsepower, 4.0-liter V-8 variant of the V-10 currently used in the BMW M5 under the powerdome. Design cues include: more pronounced wheel arches; fender gills; aerodynamic mirrors; a rear diffuser that incorporates elements of the front fascia; center-mounted dual tailpipes and 19-inch alloys with a Y-spoke design.

Like the M5 V10, the M3 V8's cylinder banks are set at a 90-degree angle. Oddly enough, the V8's crankshaft also has offset crank pins like those of the V10, even though the inherent balance of a 90-degree V8 means this isn't necessary.Based on the current 3 Series coupe, the 2008 M3 will have a 108.7-inch wheelbase, a 1.4-inch stretch over the previous-generation M3. Weight distribution is claimed to be balanced at 50 percent front/50 percent rear.BMW has yet to reveal the interior of the new E92 model and doesn't plan to do so until closer to the production car's debut later in the year. Still, insiders indicate the new car will be every bit as sumptuous as the outgoing E46.

The 2008 BMW M3 will compete with the new Audi S5 coupe when both go on sale in the U.S. in less than a year. The M3’s extra 64 horsepower, rear-wheel drive, and lighter weight promise to deliver a more raw experience than that of the all-wheel-drive Audi, but we expect the M3 will cost thousands more

YZF R6

Key Features:

Light, powerful and bristling with knowledge gained from years of racing, the YZF-R6 is the most advanced production middleweight motorcycle Yamaha - or anybody else - has ever built.
The YZF-R6 was the first production motorcycle with a fly-by-wire throttle system—for flawless response under all conditions.
Straight frame concept: developed from the Yamaha M1 GP machine, the YZF-R6’s steering head, swingarm pivot and rear axle all lie in a straight line—for unsurpassed handling—with an inline four-cylinder engine designed for optimal layout and mass centralization.
Slipper-type back torque-limiting clutch greatly facilitates braking/down shifting from high speed.
Formula 1-style air management presents very small frontal area for excellent aerodynamics; ram-air induction ducts cool, high-pressure air through the steering head for optimal combustion, more horsepower and enhanced engine cooling.
The YZF-R6 is the AMA Supersport Champion in its rookie season.

Engine:

Compact, lightweight 67 x 42.5mm 599cc DOHC 16-valve liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder features titanium valves, 12.8:1 compression and compact combustion chambers for awesome, lightning-quick response.
YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) uses a powerful ECU and multiple sensors to provide perfect, smooth engine response and optimal power whenever the throttle is twisted, under all conditions.
Twin-injector fuel injection: shower-type injectors above each intake funnel help achieve optimum fuel atomization at high rpm.
Back torque-limiting slipper clutch greatly facilitates braking and downshifting from high speed. Close-ratio six-speed transmission delivers seamless power and maximum acceleration.
Despite the increased bore, piston and pin weight has been reduced for more power and smoothness; 1mm smaller main journals reduce friction while 1mm larger connecting rod journals increase performance.
Compact slant-block engine design uses widely triangulated gearbox shafts to make the GP-derived, straight frame concept work; optimum weight distribution and excellent handling are the result.
GP-style titanium muffler contributes to mass centralization, and contains EXUP, and an O2 sensor and catalyzers for a broad powerband and spot-on injection.
Linerless, direct-plated ceramic-composite cylinder bores mean greater heat dissipation for consistent power delivery and reduced friction—also a narrow engine.
Cool magnesium valve and engine covers are light and stylish. Curved radiator with twin-ring cooling fans keeps everything cool.
Direct ignition coils, dual-electrode spark plugs and high-output magneto deliver extremely accurate, reliable firing.

Yamaha V star custom

Key Features:

The long and chopperesque V Star Custom is the also the lightest of the Stars, which means great handling and performance are along for the ride, too.
Dual exhausts, steel fenders, custom-looking clear turn signals, lots of chrome, etc. — the V Star Custom represents tremendous cruiser bang for the buck.
Rigid-look frame in fact offers a great ride via a hidden rear shock with 3.4 inches of travel.
27.4-inch seat height lets even short riders get both feet on the pavement.
Special V Star Midnight Custom blacked-out version gets deep Raven paint and distinctive trim throughout.

Engine:

Beautifully chromed and polished 40 cubic-inch (649cc) air-cooled, SOHC 70 degree V-twin cranks out torquey low- and mid-range power with minimal engine rpm — maximum torque is reached at only 3000 rpm — for powerful, smooth cruising performance.
Wide-ratio five-speed transmission ensures extremely usable, cruiser-friendly power delivery to the asphalt.
Low-maintenance shaft drive provides quiet, reliable performance.
Two-into-two chrome exhaust pipes create sleek styling and deliver maximum low- and mid-range engine output.

2008 Volvo V70

2008 Volvo V70

The redesigned Volvo V70 is very similar in appearance to the S80 sedan, although it receives a redesigned front grille and rear sheetmetal that resembles the design of the C30. Power to the front wheels comes from the S80's 235 horsepower V-6.

The interior is larger, and boasts new interior innovations like a pair of child boosters built into the 40/20/40 three-way folding rear seat. A power tailgate and sliding rear load floor will also be offered. As for safety, the V70 has more acronyms than a NASA project: SIPS (Side Impact Protection System); WHIPS (Whiplash Protection System); Extended IC (Inflatable Curtain); HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist); OBA (Optimized Hydraulic Brakes); RAB (Ready Alert Brakes); and FBS (Fading Brake Support). If that sounds like a lot of brakes, don’t worry, the V70 has four normal discs. All of the brake-related systems combine to provide more brake pressure during emergency stops, increase brake pressure with hydraulics when vacuum pressure is low, shorten brake response time, and use greater brake pressure to account for brake fade. In other words, the V70 will do everything it can to bring itself to a stop in an emergency, provided the driver actually hits the brake pedal. And, if the V70 doesn’t stop, there are plenty of airbags and crash structures to protect the occupants. Just like you’d expect from a Volvo, only now even better looking.

Honda Civic

Honda Civic

The most significant car at the Honda pavilion was the new, eighth generation Civic. This is the machine that won "Car Of The Year" for Honda at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this month. The Civic will be slotted against the likes of Toyota Corolla when it hits Indian roads in a few months time.
Compared to the Corolla the Civic has flamboyant styling going for it and a gem of an i-VTEC motor powering it.
